Introduction

As the gaming industry takes a slight pause before releasing several major games, July brings diverse projects to satisfy every taste.

From tactical role-playing to thrilling action and mind-bending space adventures, here are some of the most notable game releases of the month.

Although some games on the list may not be officially available in Russia or on certain platforms, we must recognize their release.

Gylt – July 6 (PlayStation, Xbox, PC)

The once-exclusive Google Stadia adventure puzzle game, Gylt, featuring stealth and action, is finally making its way to new platforms.

Players embark on a journey to an old mining town in Maine, taking control of a young girl who must confront her worst fears and haunting memories to uncover the mystery behind her cousin Emily’s disappearance.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals

Set five years after the first game’s events, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals brings players back to the hometown of Riley, who aims to unravel the mystery surrounding enigmatic signals.

Interestingly, the developers state that playing the original game is unnecessary to enjoy the sequel.

Players can make choices and influence the course of events, with the dialogue system allowing them to determine Riley’s ultimate fate.

The story’s future depends on how successfully Riley deals with supernatural phenomena.

Testament: The Order of High-Human

In the post-apocalyptic fantasy world of Tessara, the adventure action game Testament: The Order of High-Human thrusts players into the role of an immortal king of the High-Humans.

It is up to the player to save the kingdom from a treacherous brother and the madness he has unleashed.

Apart from engaging in first-person battles using both close-quarters and ranged weapons, players can wield magic, solve puzzles, and engage in crafting.

The hero must utilize all available resources to determine the fate of this realm.

Jagged Alliance 3 – July 14 (PC)

The long-awaited tactical role-playing game, Jagged Alliance 3, will be released exclusively for PC in just two weeks.

The developers aim to create an authentic successor to the second installment of the series.

Players will again take control of mercenary squads, this time on a mission to rescue the president of Grand Chien, a country facing turmoil in the early 2000s.

They must manage the team’s finances and well-being, train militias, and make strategic decisions on the world map.

The region’s future and inhabitants hang in the balance as they advance into enemy territory, engaging in battles and making impactful choices.

Exoprimal

Alongside Jagged Alliance 3, Capcom will release the futuristic action game Exoprimal.

Players assume the role of soldiers from the future, each with unique abilities and functions such as tanks, attackers, and support heroes.

Their primary adversaries are numerous dinosaurs, including the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, and Pterodactyls.

In addition to PvE encounters, developers have prepared PvP clashes, pitting two teams of five against each other, akin to Overwatch 2 but with the added threat of dinosaurs.

Turbo Overkill – July 18 (PC)

Exiting early access on PC, Turbo Overkill is a fast-paced and gory shooter that has garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews from players since April 2022, boasting a 96% approval rating on Steam.

Despite its small size, the game draws inspiration from genre classics like Doom and Quake, combining their intense action with a cyberpunk aesthetic.

Players are equipped with various weapons and have room for self-improvement, enabling them to dispatch bosses and diverse adversaries efficiently.

The release version will also include multiplayer, and the developers have plans to bring the shooter to consoles.

Pikmin 4

The latest installment in the series, Pikmin 4, takes players to a new planet where they explore alongside a “space” dog.

Players can cultivate and command the Pikmin in the game, directing them to engage enemies in combat.

Different types of Pikmin possess unique abilities, such as red Pikmin being fire-resistant and ice Pikmin having the power to freeze enemies and environmental elements.

Players can already experience the game through the recently released demo version.

Remnant 2

Remnant: From the Ashes returns with a sequel, immersing players in terrifying realms to battle new ruthless creatures and face challenging trials.

The role-playing action game can be played solo or cooperatively with friends, allowing players to choose their preferred class based on their unique abilities.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

The adventures of Ratchet, Clank, and Rivet in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart began on PlayStation 5 two years ago.

Recently, Insomniac and Sony announced that the game would soon be available on PC, offering support for modern technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 3, DLAA, AMD FSR 2, and ray tracing for reflections and shadows.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series

Ending the month is The Expanse: A Telltale Series, a creation by Deck Nine and Telltale based on the science fiction franchise “The Expanse.”

The game provides insight into the backstory of Camina Drummer, the asteroid dockworker before she became an assistant to Fred Johnson, the Butcher of Anderson Station.

The first of five episodes will be released on July 27, with subsequent episodes following every couple of weeks.

Players will witness the cosmic adventures prepared by the developers and see how their choices shape the fate of the protagonist and her team.
