Prof Waters shared her perspective during an interview with BBC Radio 4’s The World Tonight program, saying that her sister’s case exemplified the dangers of attempting to encapsulate everything within a single word.
She further expressed that the harm caused by this singular assessment of the school is immeasurable, and the loss of Ruth has had a devastating impact on numerous individuals.
In response to the criticism, Ofsted defended its use of one-word grades and announced that they would not be scrapped.
